Adema is a small country on the continent of Anscion. It is surrounded on all sides by a mountain range known as The Adema Mountains. It’s closest regional neighbor is The Endless Sands to the West. On the other side of The Adema Mountains in every other direction are massive bodies of water, the sea lies to the East and South, and the largest lake on the continent, The Lake of Tears, boarders the mountains to the North.
Despite the large amount of farmland in the country, and the nine month growing season it enjoys, Adema does not export any food. Due to it’s unique geographical location, the country is forced to produce nearly all of it’s own resources. Because of this, Adema is also the only country on Anscion to regulate hunting to the point of issuing a set number of hunting licences per year. Hunting without a licence carries a penalty of up to five years in prison, as well as a hefty fine.
Adema’s main exports are iron, gold, silver, and platinum. It is also only one of two places on Anscion where the metal mithril has been found to naturally occur. As there is only one known reliable passage through the mountains, Adema is only able to trade with the outside world twice a year. A wagon train is sent from the city of Del Terra through the mountains to transport good into the country as well as to transport as much metal as possible out of the country.
